Step 2 — Cup size

Now measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape loose enough not to compress. Subtract your band measurement from this number. The difference determines your cup: roughly 13 cm = B, 15 cm = C, 17 cm = D, 19 cm = E, and so on. Sizing can vary slightly between styles, which is why trying your calculated size and one adjacent size is always smart.

Step 3 — Check the fit

• The band should sit level all the way around and stay firm on the loosest hook — you should fit two fingers under it, no more.
• The cups should contain your bust fully with no gaping and no spillover at the top or sides.
• The straps should support without digging — most of a bra's support comes from the band, not the straps.
• The center gore (the piece between the cups) should sit flat against your sternum.
